San Vigilio di Marebbe is located in the heart of the Dolomites in a quiet area, where language and culture have been preserved to this day. Ladin is still the spoken language. In order to be able to clarify the origins of the Ladin language we need to return through history for centuries.
The village with approx. 1,300 inhabitants lies at about 1,200 m a. sea level. It extends in a vast valley, surrounded by the Dolomites and is embedded into a natural paradise. Furthermore, the village is composed of a few fractions: Rina, Longega and Pieve with some farms of rare splendour. An excursion not to be missed!
